To Be Or Not To Be......In The Eyes of HeartLess (9.7.07)

To be, or not to be: that is the question:

Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer

The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;
To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause: there's the respect
That makes calamity of so long life;
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
The oppressor's wrong, the proud man's contumely,
The pangs of despised love, the law's delay,
The insolence of office and the spurns
That patient merit of the unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin? who would fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,
The undiscover'd country from whose bourn
No traveller returns, puzzles the will
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all;
And thus the native hue of resolution
Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought,
And enterprises of great pith and moment
With this regard their currents turn awry,
And lose the name of action.

MY INTERPRETATION

The question is: is it better to be alive or dead? Is it nobler to put up with all the nasty things that luck throws your way, or to fight against all those troubles by simply putting an end to them once and for all? Dying, sleeping—that's all dying is—a sleep that ends all the heartache and shocks that life on earth gives us—that's an achievement to wish for. To die, to sleep—to sleep, maybe to dream. Ah, but there's the catch: in death's sleep who knows what kind of dreams might come, after we've put the noise and commotion of life behind us. That's certainly something to worry about. That's the consideration that makes us stretch out our sufferings so long. After all, who would put up with all life's humiliations—the abuse from superiors, the insults of arrogant men, the pangs of unrequited love, the inefficiency of the legal system, the rudeness of people in office, and the mistreatment good people have to take from bad—when you could simply take out your knife and call it quits? Who would choose to grunt and sweat through an exhausting life, unless they were afraid of something dreadful after death, the undiscovered country from which no visitor returns, which we wonder about without getting any answers from and which makes us stick to the evils we know rather than rush off to seek the ones we don't? Fear of death makes us all cowards, and our natural boldness becomes weak with too much thinking. Actions that should be carried out at once get misdirected, and stop being actions at all.

Old Poetry -- Dat Something I See (9.4.07)

Dat Something I See

When I first saw you

You had sparkle in your eye
Like the starts at night
High in the sky

How I wish
That you were mine
'Cause to me
You're one of a kind

When I look at you
It seems so untrue
How someone like you
Can make me feel the way you do

You're so fine
For all the world to see
I find you hard to believe, you see
You make me want to love you

When I look at you
I don't know what to do
How someone just like you
Can make me feel weak like you do.

Late at night
I just can't sleep
Darkness all around, nothing in my sight
But somehow, without using an inch of my might
Ur face appears to me,
Such beauty could bring a tear to my eye.

I got to get into my life
I lay there and tell myself
She got me sprung and i aint even smash
Sadly enuff people, its the truth.

There's Something inside of you.
Far more than physical beauty goes.
Its tyme for me to be with a queen,
And quit playin' wit these hoes.

Love is something most don't take seriously
For a part of my life I didn't either
But around you, I forget about the past
Present dont matter either, im lookin' for the future

And off in the distance
i see us in the park
holdin hands while it gets dark
Bein' wit chu is so good, i neva wanna stop.

But now im craven ya body is this real
Temperatures rising, i dont wanna feel
that im in the wrong place to be real

Gurl, now im longin' 2 love you for more than just one night
kissin' and huggin' and holdin' u tight.
There's a reason that we're here
There's a reason that i'll never have to fear
That when Im' with you
Those reasons will never have to disappear

Im no football star
Kinda far from genius
so wat do i have to offer you??
Baby its my all
Cuz i promise, after their litle love games have been played
And their reasons begin to fade, cuz it was all just a parade
IMA B THERE
CUZ U JUST GOT DAT SOMETHING I SEE.....

#NP Pharrell & The Yessirs --- You Can Do It Too

Its funny how life's everyday teaching makes me feel my mind is forever a piece of clay being molded over & over. The things I once held high are now seen as so low, I wouldn't be my knees to touch em.  The women I used to adore are the ones I wouldn't waste my juice on. ***For the record...I haz no juice lol***

At one point in time I used to think I could save the world....and by the world I meant my people. I know think about how silly that thought was. To try and rescue those who are plugged in to society cannot be saved by those that are wireless to the game. I mean....maybe its a reflection of my upbringing combined with my grade school experiences that lead me to my current thought process. Maybe it was that one day that the world went black that did it...i think it was that day in my opinion...but that's neither here nor there.

I appreciate the many outspoken strong minds I've met. Social media + a strong opinion creates for a very good debating platform. Like...a person with a mind that is open to receiving the views of others without becoming hysterical is something I pride myself on. I am human and at times i can get in my feelings.....but hey...im fuckin human....what more do you want from me. But take ma friend "Trench" for example.....the girl is just deep on a whole 'nother level. And without saying a word to her sometimes I see the opinions she has and I'm able to compare them to my own....all because of social media. I dont know how many people take advantage of the opportunity of receiving millions of opinions and seeing how society matches up to your own thoughts...but maybe people should.....ehh who knows.

I have an all nighter to complete and its only 2:40.....so I'll get back to doing what the hell I was doing before my mind decids to become all kinds of clouded nshyt.....Night America.....Hello NightOwls.....

Old Poetry -- Just Know My Story (8.23.07)

...ma first poem...written wayyy back in grade school.....more was added in '07

JUST KNOW MY STORY...

My Best Friend Says Im Bottled Up
I Need A Fuckin' Therapist
But I Can't Think of No-one I Wanna Share This Wit
Why Should I Open Up On Someone Else's Carelessness
Feelin' Hated Now Nigga So Here It Is.
Momma workin' all day, Daddy out in da fleet
School was hard for a shy guy like me.
But I was never alone when I was out in tha streets,
Because lil boy always had death round me.
Spirits they came to me
Sometimes I ran, sometimes I listened
Sometimes I just stared as their bodies glistened.
I was an ice cube as the temperature dropped.
As I heard about how their heart had stopped.
Soon I became their medium. A therapist if will..
But seeing them to this day gives me chills.
They were my only friends in Virginia Beach
I guess they were the reason I never fell to tha streets.
Always in on Saturday night,
I never once thought of what went on that night.
I excelled on the field, yet never had tha bulk
I tried out, they laughed, but never did I sulk.
7 on 7's I proved tha world wrong.
Just another line in ma song.
Mad D on tha court, just never had tha dribbles
Once again they laughed, my life, a giant riddle.
Had talent with no purpose, or so it had seemed.
My life, a puzzle, dat was left undone
With no-one to listen, but the undead son.
Destined for failure..never to see my father smile.
Life was hopeless..for a while.
Daddy left, mommy stressed..
Ma role got bigger in the fam
I became tha chef. I found joy in Skittles
Started in piece together ma riddle.
Landstown high..didn't start out right.
As I learned wat it was like
To be tha easiest nerd in sight.
True dat, im a nerd, proud to say it.
Lifez a game, and you have to play it.
Learned dat da hard way,
Being something im not, didnt help my life in those days.
A castout from my own people,
I found comfort with my best friend'z crowd.
Best friend, brother, how ever you wanna put it
For some reason, I made him proud.
And I was accepted, I felt wanted
And I was wanted, my quiet nature drew them to me.
So I played my cards, and they came to me.
There was one, who stood out..
I had a strong urge to call out
and Talk to her, but chall know me.
shy guy, fyne gurl.. wordz will not come from me.
But Carl knew by tha stare on my face.
so he called Jamila, and brought her in ma space.
started slow nd we hit it off right.
now datz ma best friend nd yea she's off to tha RIGHT.
But yea datz anotha story for anotha tyme.
Im forgettin tha major turnin' point in ma lyfe...
When eva I noticed that i could do wat few could do
I maximized my efforts to tell tha news
But none believe until achieved
then it was percieved that i was different
Strange..yes that's what they called me all tha tyme
wen they knew i had supa senses, nd could read minds.
So i decided to earn their respect...
turned into a supa thief...some called me tha best in tha beach.
You want it, I got it
thats how it went...
You placed an order, nd I'd record it
Next day u bring da cash, id have ur order.
Every big boss needed a partner, I had mine
dey called us DNA, nd we did shyne.
Yall dont kno how it feelz
to wait almost 15 years to have friends
b4 then i wanted ma dayz to end.
raised by tv, driven by money
i became more sinister, nd it wont funny.
skool was irrelevant, nd i got bold
As I began to skip out, into tha cold...
But i didnt care cuz lyfe was great.
I had people, money, nd femalez.
Nd none could hate.
But they say all good things must come to an end
And we slipped up, nd there it would end.
Shipped off to Charlotte, to live with tha man
Who left my mother, yes HELL BEGAN.
It started off so rough, as we adjusted
But I learned, how we would busted.
This man'z senses were quite like mine
I dont kno about tha dead people,
but i was fine. So i hid my thoughtz from him
but he still knew, wen we did wrong
Violent yes, but tha joyous part of tha song.
As he learned from me i learned from him.
And with brookmere'z help, we were quickly known
Dem funny boyz, gurlz would call on tha phone
Ma hood was ma family, nd i would never change that
Best athletes in tha world nd thats a fact.
They made Charlotte, tha greatest place to b on any given day
From koo-koo cribz to football, goin wreckless was a plus
But tha fact was together, man NOBODY could touch us.
Famous in da skool, both boy & gurlz knew bout us
Best thing about it, i had only been there 3 months.
Now we're cooler than eva,
and even though college lyfe is callin
I know where ma family'z at,
Nd i kno they'll stay ballin
To all those in ma lyfe, i thank u much
4 bein there nd keepin me goin through tha rough stuff.
Dedicated 2: Those that wanna kno me
AND 2: THOsE LOST ALONG THA WAY

Young Memories

Throughout my time doin this i will from time to time post an old poem/video of my early college years. When I look at the people I've met or the things I've accomplished & how I've grown.......it makes me smile at it. I've come a long way as a person......

But anyways....today's video comes from a trip to NCCU to pick up some game tickets.....Me, Carl, Joe, Courtland & Shortee {Trinity} were just some aggies up in eagleland. Let me tell ya....when you're in enemy territory...you HAVE to make the most of it......and so Carl & Courtland took a trip into NCCU's cafe....just a very small piece of the ignorance that went on that day.

....hilarious....right?...i know

Post-#DFP5 Life.....

Wow..ummmmm ima save all comments about #DFP5 cuz i actually wanna TRY.....that is the keyword...."try".... to let yall hear my voice on the many ups & few downs for me at the Epicness that was "DrinkFestPart 5". But I will say this....WOOOOOOW!......what an event...what an atmosphere....I'm glad I was able to meet such people that could make something like this happen.

Hopefully I can use the exposure from Drinkfest & other events to further my DJ gigs.....And in case anyone didn't notice.......I DJ prolly 20 times more efficiently when intoxicated....thats right i said it!

Now its time to get back to school....I passed my engineering economy quiz today.......gotta keep my momentum going....alot is riding on this semester but I know I got this.....also it was a real pleasure seeing alot of old friends again this weekend.....

And like most engineers...we're back....again.....This is different for me...I'm older, wiser & alot more determined to make shit happen. My knowledge, musical ability, level of "humbleness", networking skills, have all increased in the time I was out of school. I guess now is the time to put it all together......Maybe have me a girlfriend for once....who knows?
