#GHOE....it is what you make it Pt 2

Lets get right to it.....as #GHOE is right around the corner......

#7: DRINK!

#8: .......After the show....its the After Party.....

I know plenty of you people reading this are excited for the concert Saturday night. And I'm also pretty sure that you and your team probably wanna hit the club for the great after parties that will be goin' down. More than likely the club you go to has promised that a certain celebrity from the concert is going to be there, which is all the more the reason for you to go.....right? WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL........Let me telllllll you sumin'. I hope you saved up for Saturday night. Because depending on the club and who will be there, you are NOT getting in there for less than $20. Some of you are saying "Shiiiiiiieeet, me & my team got that"....calm down....the night is just beginning. As time dwindles on while you're in a line three times as long as the "Fried Chicken Friday" line at noon and as you're in this line that price can & WILL skyrocket to...ooooo..sayyyyy about $50....to $60........and it will keep going. The funny thing is....if your people got it....they're probably gonna pay it. Yall can have alladat..... not meeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

#9: Pssssssssssssssst.............................................DRINK!

#10: .........And then.....its the rest of you......

Some of yall are gonna disregard #8 altogether because you don't plan on hitting the club, you plan on having and/or attending some kinda "EPIC #GHOE House Party". Let me tell ya now...if this party is in walking distance of A&T, be prepared for one of the craziest nights of your life, and that may or may not be a good thing. House parties, in my opinion, are 20 times better than going to the club. There is a more comfortable feeling in the air (thanks to that good ol Liquid Courage!). Now lets take this party, and add #GHOE to the mix. I don't know how many people you expect in your house BUT, do prepare for the worst, because not only do you have to deal with the already crazy students outchea, but the possibility of the people cruising around "Lookin' for a good time". It don't take but one squad of bout 10 people to let the rest of America know where ya party is. Be careful, I don't wanna have to hear about someone else dying at #GHOE again. Not a good look. Sad enough the gentleman was just a visitor from SC. If ya gotta be out in these streets.....remember Rule #3.

#11: .........*Insert Your Drink into your mouth.....and Swallow*..........

#12: Aggie Pride....let it RIP!

I'm gonna keep this really.............REALLLLY simple. If you hear "Aggie Pride" yelled anywhere near you, don't be ashamed, scared, too proud, too cool, or lame. SAY IT BACK!

#13: Take a shot......Dont ask questions....just do it........NOW!

#14: Most Effin' Importantly.......

Your Effin Grades! For all you first-timers and maybe a couple of you seasoned vets who plan on doing more this year than in the past, go find an old head and have them explain to you this statement, "#GHOE is can ruin your entire college career". Sounds harsh doesn't it, but its the truth. I highly recommend having the time of your life because that is what #GHOE is all about, but let me also remind you of what the word "Homecoming" is all about. Homecoming is for the people that made it out of A&T. Alumni from the many different eras of AggieLand return home, technically while the memories we create during #GHOE as an undergrad give us a reason to come back and enjoy it as alumni, it doesn't mean anything if we lose focus of why we're here to begin with. GO TO CLASS.....even if you have to do it drunk.......GO TO CLASS!....i know I will be (#TeamCamelBak....we outchea!) Don't let this week be the reason we don't see ya ass in the Spring!

#GHOE....it is what you make it.... Pt .1

October in the HBCU world is one of the most exciting time-frames in the school year. One word spells it all: Homecoming. Each week, several schools go through the pageantry & excitement of homecoming for a week. In the case of FAMU down in Tallahassee, Florida, 2 weeks. An influx of alumni & friends return to the cities ready for tailgating, networking, reuniting, and of course the good ol football game.

My today I'm not here to speak on all homecomings, just one...because its more than just a "homecoming", its an event, a calamity, its epic....simply put....its "The Greatest"....yes...I'm talking about North Carolina A&T's own.... #GHOE

#GHOE, "Greatest Homecoming on Earth" this year falls on October 27th. But everyone that attends college knows, that homecoming is a week long celebration of exponential growth leading up to Saturday. It only comes around once a year and the weeks before remind us Aggies of Christmas. The anticipation is crazy. BUT, an event like this takes alot of preparation & training because if you partake in the likes of alcohol you know all of what could happen at any given time during turn up hours.....and during #GHOE...."Turn Up Hours" are from 12AM Saturday (the 20th) --- 6AM Sunday (the 28th)...or something like that. Let me give some insight of what you could see if you're a first timer......or again if you're a student/alumnus/visitor etc etc etc.

#1: The earlier you can prepare....the better.

First & most important thing to realize is that Greensboro, for the most part, allows #GHOE to pretty much own their city for a week due to the economic impact it has on pretty much all of the businesses in the city. From hotels to restaurants to clothing stores all the way down the line. It is important to understand that closer that #GHOE gets, people will begin to shop for their outfits, paraphernalia, hotel lodging etc. (Hotels should be booked months in advance....trust me on this one). So shopping for your #GHOE needs should be handled as early as humanly possible because it'd be foolish to think you can roll up in the mall & get something last minute while everyone & their mama is in there doing the same. Alcohol included!!!!!! The ABC imports liquor from Charlotte & High Point to make sure their supply doesn't run low. But it is almost guaranteed that by time that fateful Saturday gets here, your favorite bottle just might not be there. If you have the funds, 'gon head & purchase what you need as early as possible.

#2: DRINK!

#3: Keep your eyes open.....

This one is pretty self explanatory.... #GHOE attracts thousands of people to the city of Greensboro and its guaranteed that if you step out your room or house, apartment whatever, you'll run into a crowd of people. Not saying everyone out there is a dangerous individual but believe me....they will be outchea. In the back of your mind you need to have it in there that a good majority of everyone outside is a "Shoob"....they either are a local, an out of town visitor here to turn up with the aggies, or a friend of an aggie...also here to turn up. Be mindful of your surroundings and trust your instincts...because hey.....shit happens.

#4: DRINK!

#5 If they're not 'bout that "Aggie Life".....leave em at home.....

There is someone out here that is about to have a flashback to a previous #GHOE when reading this one. It is completely natural for Aggies to want their non-Aggie friends back at home to come on down & enjoy the #GHOE experience. That is all fine and dandy, but think about their personalities and what they like to do. Are they social? Are they stuck up? A lil on the "disrespectful to strangers" side? Will they mesh well with the friends you have made down here in Greensboro? If you have answered "Yes" to any of those questions, perhaps you should think about what could happen once they arrive. There definitely has been someone that let their friends from out of town keep them from livin the #GHOE dream because they just didn't mesh well with what they had planned. Don't be that person. Evaluate 'em & make the call.

#6: DRINK!

....to be continued

Aggie Pride!

Old Poetry --- Save Me (11.4.07)

Save Me

Im choking but no one is touching me

Im drowning but its clear to see
datz cuz there nothing wrong wit me
Its just dat lately
Theres just this feeling

A feeling that has no words
Likez something u dream of as a boy
Besides the power rangers
nd playin wit cha toyz
Its that lil feeling of extreme joy
more joy dat could eva come from hangin wit cha boyz

Nd it comez over me weneva shes around
Im floatin' high up in tha sky
nd den reallity brings me back down
Mah boyz kno about cha..nd yea dey tryna clown
Tryna say im scared of ya
but dat aint da case
Cus i just kno theres more 2 kno behind dat pretty face
nd i wanna kno watz in ya brain
like do u eva just stare out tha window
nd look straight out in tha rain
nd daydream...as tyme fliez by?

Ive been told ima sucka
Mayb itz true
Mayb im in ova ma head
Mayb i should call it quits
nd mark this mission dead
But if i did that, where dat leave you
Still on a search, searchin 4 da truth
Truth datz not a what, but a who

I got some truth 4 ya
im not perfect..neither r u
but if u come save me
Den ima save you

Some things just make Home feel more like....Home

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but an apartment is a place you temporarily call home...correct?? And given the fact that this place that I temporarily call home is where I spend 80% of my time, It'd only be right if I make my stay here as comfortable as humanly possible......right??? And with that said....here is my changes to the cribbo....I guess its kinda safe to say I don't really like regular light settings........right?

Blue/Orange light in the main room......

Green light in my room, Red light in ma bathroom
